Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones expected to launch today

Rumour has it that Redmond giant Microsoft may release the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones as early as Monday, February 9, 2015 for consumers. If at all these rumours turn out to be true, then we may have the Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones available for download before the Windows 10 for Phones' insider build goes live.
A new report (via Nokiapoweruser) tips an anonymous source making the claim that the Technical Preview for phones of Windows latest rendition will be launched later today.
"Windows 10 Technical Preview for phones (8.15.12495.44) will be released on Monday, February 9 at 9am PST (10:30pm IST)." quotes the tipped email sent to Nokiapoweruser.
Clearly, if the email were to be true, there is not much left to the imagination then. That said there is no official word from Microsoft about the same as of now.
The source also adds that the build is currently being tested by Microsoft employees. If the said build is found to be largely bug-free, Microsoft will go ahead and release it as per the schedule. Also, the source tips that not all the Windows Phone 8/8.1 handsets will receive the first preview build and that they will be covered in upcoming updates.
Earlier, the company's corporate vice president, Operating Systems Group, Joe Belfiore took to Twitter to reveal that Microsoft was currently working on a way to include entry-level Windows Phone 8.1 models with as low as 512MB of RAM in the Windows 10 update cycle.

However, Facebook is beyond the need of being introduced as almost everyone is on it. Despite its popularity, Facebook has one flaw; the default blue theme is really boring.Some even consider it an annoyance while visiting Facebook. As Facebook does not allow users to change its theme like MySpace used to, users are left with no other option but to bear the theme Facebook wants them to use.
However, it is relatively easy to change the Facebook theme to a stylish one using an addon and custom themes which are available free of cost on the internet.An example of the final outcome would be something like in the image:

Requirement:  The basic requirement for this to work is to have Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome as your browser.
Mozilla Firefox
  1. Open Mozilla Firefox and install ‘Stylish’ addon.
  2. Follow the basic steps to install the addon.
  3. Restart Firefox after successfully installing the Stylish addon.
  4. Login to your Facebook Account and click on the small ‘S’ button in your Firefox status bar.
  5. Click on “Find Styles for this Site” to open a new tab with free themes to use for Facebook.
  6. Click on any theme and a preview will be shown.
  7. If everything is fine in the previewed theme, click on “Install with Stylish” button at the top right corner of the page.
  8. A dialog box will open.
  9. Click on Install in the dialog box.
Google Chrome:
  1. Install Stylish for Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Navigate to Facebook.com and click on the S button.
  3. Click on “Find Styles for this Site” to open a new tab with free themes to use for Facebook.
  4. Click on any theme and a preview will be shown.
If everything is fine in the previewed theme, click on “Install with Stylish” button at the top right corner of the page.
Now whenever you open Facebook, it will show the theme that you have installed with Stylish instead of the boring old blue theme.
You can also change colour of Google , Youtube like websites with stylish. More than 1417544 people use it in Google chrome.

Apple's quarterly profit is more than four times the annual profit of the Indian company with highest profits.
Apple has declared a record net profit for the quarter ended December 2014. Here's an Indian perspective of this spectacular performance.

Apple's quarterly profit is more than four times the annual profit of the Indian company with highest profits. The net profit of ONGC for 2013-14 was Rs 26,506 crore.

This is 55% more than the total net profit of Nifty companies. The 50 Nifty companies made Rs 72,125 crore during the July-Sept 2014 quarter.

This can buy the three largest Indian companies, TCS, ONGC and Reliance Industries. Their combined market capitalisation is Rs 10,86,500 crore.

All 50 Nifty companies put together made only Rs 32 crore per hour in the July-Sept 2014 quarter.



Less than half of Apple's cash reserves can wipe out India's fiscal deficit of Rs 5,31,177 crore.

If the gigantic cash pile was distributed among the estimated 1.25 billion Indians, each of us will get Rs 8,828.

Pirate Bay had been offline since December

The Pirate Bay, the world’s most popular file-sharing site, came back online Saturday after Swedish authorities had shut it down in December.
The site’s relaunch, complete with a new logo of a phoenix, was expected, as a countdown clock had been displayed on the domain,VentureBeat reports. The relaunch is reportedly a slimmed-down version, not requiring several former administrators and moderators.
The Pirate Bay’s offices, based in Stockholm, were raided two months ago by Swedish officials after complaints from an anti-piracy group, resulting in the site’s longest shutdown ever. The premises were previously raided in 2006 and 2010, but the page had been brought back online within a few days.

I teach a night photography class and many times I’ve seen a whole new world of exciting things open up for my students when they learn about long exposures. Of course you can use this technique in the daytime as well, but it is often associated with night photography. On a weekend workshop I lead we go out and photograph the sunset and I MAKE them use tripods, amid much grumbling. Then after the sun goes down they start to pack up and head back to our hotel. I tell them to keep shooting. Many times I’ve been told “I didn’t know you could take photos in such dim light”. Then we get out the flashlights and do some light painting and the magic begins.
